Reports this week had linked Chelsea with a move for 24-year-old AC Milan midfielder Suso and Real Madrid have now joined Chelsea in the race for the AC Milan star, according to Daily Express.
Suso failed to impress while at Liverpool before joining AC Milan in 2015 and he has grown to become a key player for the Italian club.
Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web claimed this week that Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri had taken ‘the first steps’ towards landing Suso in January and Sport Mediaset via Daily Express are also claiming Real Madrid have joined the race.
Suso’s release clause which is set at £35million will come into effect next summer but the clause is only open to non-Italian clubs.
However, AC Milan are reportedly working to secure their playmaker a new contract that would increase his clause to £52.6 million (€60 million).
Chelsea have also been linked with a January move for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey but a report by Daily Star claims the Blues are considering not making a move for Ramsey due to the impressive forms of Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Barkley has scored three goals in his last three appearances for Chelsea while Loftus-Cheek has scored four goals in his last three appearances for Chelsea.
Ramsey will be out of contract next summer and Chelsea will have been able to sign him as a free agent.
