Eden Hazard has started the season in great form, and the Chelsea star has been tipped by many to win the Player of the Year award at the end of the season.
However, BBC pundit and former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks think Liverpool midfielder James Milner is the favourite for the award after his good start to the season for the Reds.
“James Milner has taken the early lead for my Footballer of the Year,” he wrote in his BBC Team of the Week column.
“Although I must say that Eden Hazard is a close second.
“But the way Milner is leading Liverpool through some very tricky games is very impressive.
“Against Arsenal, the ball couldn’t have dropped in front of a more cool-headed but utterly ruthless professional.
“Whatever happens between now and the end of the season I guarantee you Milner will be featuring in my TOTW on a few more occasions.”
Could Milner really be a threat to Hazard winning the Player of the Year award? Definitely not! All Hazard has to do is keep on with his current form, and he won’t only be the Player of the Year, but he’ll be a contender for the Ballon d’Or award.
