Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has played second-fiddle to Jorginho but the Spaniard doesn’t think he is only suited for the deep-lying midfield position.
Fabregas believes he can play any position in Chelsea’s midfield and revealed he has had a chat with Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri about it.
“I can give more in other positions. Maybe at the moment, he still doesn’t see it,” Fabregas said.
“We have had a chat about it and maybe in the future it will start to happen. But at the moment it is what it is and you just have to take it.”
Fabregas is yet to start a Premier League game this season, with the 32-year-old having just three substitute appearances in the Premier League so far but he expects to play more games during the month of December.
“I already know which games I will play and I am ready for it,” Fabregas added.
“I have spoken to the coach. He has been straightforward with me and I need to be ready for when the opportunity comes. That’s it.”
Fabregas has been linked with a January move to AC Milan but the midfielder expects to remain at Chelsea until the end of the season.
“Obviously in January I can sign (a pre-contract agreement) with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs,” Fabregas added.
“But so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season.
