After struggling to make the cut in Antonio Conte and Maurizio Sarri’s teams, Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is in his second year on loan away from Stamford Bridge.
Batshuayi spent last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, and the Belgian did very well in Germany. However, his loan spell in Spain hasn’t gone as planned as he has only scored one goal in 11 league games for Valencia.
With Chelsea strikers Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata struggling for goals at some point this season, there have been claims that Batshuayi might cut short his loan deal and return to Chelsea in January.
However, after scoring a brace for Belgium in their 2-0 win over Iceland, Batshuayi has rejected claims of returning back to Chelsea in January and insisted he’ll remain with them until the end of the season.
“On my departure from Valencia, there are only rumours,” Batshuayi said after Belgium extended their perfect Nations League record.
“I have no problem with the club and I understand the coach [Marcelino] very well.
“We are in a bad phase, but we will continue working to overcome the slump.”
