Olivier Giroud scored twice in Chelsea’s convincing 4-0 win over PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Giroud scored the opening two goals for the Blues while Callum Hudson-Odoi and Alvaro Morata scored Chelsea’s third and fourth goals.
Cesc Fabregas provided the assist for Giroud’s second goal with a spectacular pass over the top of the defence to find Giroud’s run in the box and Giroud has hailed the assist as great.
“I’ve scored goals in the past but I was waiting for more chances and a little bit of luck in front of goal,” Giroud told BT Sport. “I’ve been waiting, working hard and training for that.
“I had a good assist from my teammate, a great one from Fabregas. I love this kind of ball behind the defence and he knows how to give it, with a good tempo and a good rhythm.
“When the manager puts me in the starting 11 I just try to give my best and do my part and finish the good work of the team. We needed this win and we wanted to finish unbeaten in this group and we need to win one more game. We want to win this competition.
“It’s good for the confidence. We wants to make things right in the Premier League.”
