Eden Hazard was linked with a move to Real Madrid all through the summer with the Belgian captain even admitting he would love to play for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid had just won the Champions League with Hazard’s idol Zinedine Zidane as boss while Chelsea were in crisis after finishing the season in fifth and failing to qualify for the Champions League.
Zidane left Real Madrid after their Champions League win while Antonio Conte was replaced with Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.
It’s funny how things have changed quickly between the summer and now as Chelsea are playing one of the best football in Europe and close to the top of the Premier League while Real Madrid recently sacked Lopetegui, with Real Madrid winning just four games after ten La Liga games.
Santiago Solari has been appointed as Real’s caretaker coach with former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte being considered as the new Real Madrid boss.
Thorgan Hazard, Eden’s brother, believes Eden made the right decision to stay at Chelsea and not join Real Madrid during the summer.
Thorgan insists Eden Hazard isn’t thinking about a move right now, with Real Madrid in a complex period at the moment after sacking their manager and needing to rebuild.
“Eden made the right decision to stay at Chelsea,” Thorgan Hazard said as quoted on HLN.
“Chelsea weren’t keen on selling him and he had a strong start of the season. Real are in a complex period. They sacked their manager, key players left. They have to rebuild.
“I think Eden will see what happens at the end of the season.
“I know him. He’s not thinking about a move right now. He will give everything for Chelsea. He doesn’t want a clash with his club either. If he ever leaves, he will play it correctly.”
Truth be told, Real Madrid’s crisis at the moment is working in Chelsea’s favour and as long as the Blues continue playing great football and winning under Maurizio Sarri, Hazard will definitely sign a new Chelsea contract.
