Chelsea star Pedro has claimed Maurizio Sarri’s style of football – nicknamed “Sarri ball” – is the best he has played since his days with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.
Pedro also admitted he is happy to play under a coach like Sarri because he enjoys his football on the pitch.
“Sarri has a very good idea of how to play football to create chances, to enjoy on the pitch, playing football,” Pedro told beIN Sports.
“Personally I’m very happy to play with this kind of coach because it’s better for the players to enjoy inside the pitch and to create a lot of chances.
“I score a lot of goals with him because I think this year I have more opportunities to score, I’m closer to the box for to score or to assist another teammate and this is good for me.
“It’s different, but it was the same idea at Barcelona and at Manchester City because Guardiola is now the coach and it’s the same idea to play, for to create chance, to build up very well with the ball and I think it is the same idea because the coach is the same.”
Pedro also hailed Eden Hazard as the best player in Chelsea and hopes the 27-year-old signs a new contract.
“He’s (Hazard) the best player here in the team,” Pedro added.
“He’s a very big star obviously but I hope as well Eden sign a new contract here but for a long time here because he is a very good player he’s a big star in this moment and for this reason I hope he’ll continue in this club.”
