After a difficult start to the season, Alvaro Morata has picked up form in recent weeks and has returned to first team, ousting Olivier Giroud, and the 26-year-old has scored three goals in his last three league games.

The Chelsea striker has also returned to the Spain national team, but had a game to forget in Spain’s 1-0 victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With over an hour of football played and the scores tied at 0-0, Spain had a good chance to score as Marco Asensio’s low drive forced a smart save from Ibrahim Sehic in goal, with the ball dropping in front of Morata to tap into an empty net, but the Chelsea striker miskicked his shot off his right foot and onto his left before falling over.

Fortunately for Morata, Spain still got the victory in the end as debutant Brais Mendez struck 12 minutes from time to hand Spain a morale-boosting win on the same day that they were pipped to the Nations League semi-finals by England.

Morata will return to the Chelsea camp ahead of this weekend’s clash against Spain hoping that his form will be better for the derby game against Tottenham.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
