Pedro has challenged his teammates to beat Tottenham at the Wembley Stadium to prove the Blues are genuine title contenders.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has played down Chelsea’s title ambitions this season but Pedro insists beating Tottenham is an opportunity to close the gap with Manchester City.
“It’s a very good opportunity for us to win this game because to reach Manchester City you need to win against Tottenham,” Pedro told beIN Sports.
“It’s a very difficult game for us, it’s a derby but it’s also an opportunity to reach them! It’s difficult because if you don’t win it’s a gap, is a very big gap and it’s difficult to reach them but we can fight until the end.”
Pedro also believes Hazard has shown he’s among the top three players in the world alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“He’s (Hazard) the best player here in the team,” Pedro added.
“He’s a very big star obviously but I hope as well Eden sign a new contract here but for a long time here because he is a very good player he’s a big star in this moment and for this reason I hope he’ll continue in this club.
“It’s difficult because also there’s Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo but for sure they’re three of the best in the world and in this season he’s in a very good form.
“He (Hazard) is scoring a lot of goals with the vision with the right mentality to fight and to help the team and this is very good for the team, for me and it’s a pleasure to play with him inside the pitch.”
