Pedro started in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace, and the Spaniard scored the third goal as the Blues romped to their eight league victory of the season.
Pedro has had to battle Willian for a spot in the starting eleven, as Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has preferred Willian to Pedro for most part of the season.
Eden Hazard’s position in the team is undisputed, with Willian and Pedro having to battle for the remaining slot. However, with Hazard on the bench for the game against the Eagles, Pedro and Willian were given a start by Sarri with Hazard having to come on in the second half.
Pedro spoke about the competition for places in the team and revealed it’s hard to get into the team at the moment, admitting that it’s up to the manager to choose the best squad for each game.
“It’s very difficult for Maurizio to choose the right decision but that’s good for the team, it makes us strong on the pitch,” he said.
“Also it’s good to have options. Ruben is in very good form, also Cesc, Jorginho, Kovacic, Barkley, so it’s very good for the team.”
