Maurizio Sarri and Jose Mourinho were up against each other in an interesting clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Stamford Bridge last month.
Mourinho didn’t have a good relationship with former Blues boss Antonio Conte, but it seems Sarri won’t let Mourinho’s history at Stamford Bridge come between the pair,
Sarri has hailed Mourinho for his personality and has admitted that the Manchester United boss has extraordinary human qualities.
“Mourinho is a man of extraordinary human qualities,” said Sarri. “It made an excellent impression on the day of the Stamford Bridge match when the incident involving one of my assistants occurred. On the professional level, there is little to say.”
The Chelsea manager also spoke about Arsenal boss Unai Emery and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Sarri hailed Emery for his offensive organization of the Arsenal squad.
“Emery is a scholar and an excellent professional,” Sarri told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The offensive organisation of his football is of the highest level.”
Sarri also revealed that he shares a similar philosophy with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, and explained that the Liverpool manager’s style is the closest to his in the Premier League.
Sarri added: “[Jurgen] Klopp is the one I feel closest from a philosophical point of view.
“The exchange of words between us seems to me to be exemplary.”
