Eden Hazard’s Chelsea contract will expire in the summer of 2020 and the Belgian is yet to sign a contract extension with the club.
Spanish club Real Madrid are interested in the 27-year-old and Hazard has admitted he is torn between signing a new Chelsea contract and joining Real Madrid.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri believes Chelsea can convince Eden Hazard to sign a new deal after they locked down N’Golo Kante to fresh five-year contract.
Sarri admits he is unsure about the latest progress but admits something can happen.
Asked about a new Hazard deal, Sarri said: “No, Eden, I don’t know the evolution of the deal, for the new contract, but he’s very well.
“Fortunately, he played the last match with the national team on Sunday, so he was here on Tuesday. For us, that’s very important.
“I don’t know the evolution of the new contract, but I think we can do [it].”
Asked if he is hopeful of Hazard signing a new deal, Sarri added: “I hope so. I hope so.”
Sarri also admitted he is pleased Kante has signed a new Chelsea deal.
“N’Golo, for us, is not just an important player,” Sarri added.
“He’s a ‘determining’ player for us. So I’m really happy with the new contract. Clearly very pleased for him.”
