Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been impressed with Ross Barkley and admits the England international is becoming an important player for Chelsea.
Barkley struggled for game time last season after arriving from Everton in January due to injuries and former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte not trusting him.
Barkley has played more Premier League games this season than he did the whole of last season.
He has made 12 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions and has scored three times in his last three appearances for Chelsea. Six of the 12 appearances for Chelsea have been starts with four of those starts coming in the Premier League.
Sarri admits Barkley has improved the tactical part of his game and also hailed Barkley’s technical quality.
“In the first week I saw some matches of Chelsea and Everton as I wanted to see him on the pitch,” Sarri said of Barkley.
“He has a great technical quality, from the physical and he is improving after the injury of last season. He improved from the tactical point of view.
“He is becoming a very, important for this team. Not only for us but for English football as well.”
Asked if Barkley will be an important player for England, Sarri added: “Yes. I think so.”
