Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has warned Chelsea fans not to get too excited despite Maurizio Sarri’s brilliant start at Chelsea.
Sarri joined Chelsea over the summer and despite the limited time he had to work with the players during preseason, the Blues are unbeaten in all competitions this season.
Gabbiadini warned Chelsea fans that the Premier League is full of surprises and traps.
“He is doing very well at Chelsea even if he didn’t have a lot of time to teach his football,” Gabbiadini told Corriere dello Sport.
“Let’s see what will happen in the next months because the Premier League is full of surprises and traps.”
Gabbiadini played under Sarri at Napoli but struggled for game time with Sarri preferring Gonzalo Higuain.
Gabbiadini revealed he wasn’t angry with Sarri despite his lack of game time at Napoli and also revealed he had a conversation with Sarri after Chelsea’s win at Southampton last weekend.
“I am not angry with Sarri,” Gabbiadini added. “I didn’t play because of Higuain.
“Three weeks ago, after Chelsea-Southampton, he waited for me outside the dressing room and we spoke for 15 minutes about Napoli and Naples.”
“Sarri did a great job in Naples and I didn’t need any explanation from a manager with his experience.”
