David de Gea’s form for Spain has been quite awful since the World Cup and there has been calls for the Manchester United goalkeeper to be dropped for new Chelsea goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga who holds the world record fee for a goalkeeper.
De Gea for the second time in a row conceded three goals for Spain as Croatia defeated Spain 3-2, and Spanish newspaper AS report that Luis Enrique has told De Gea that he could be dropped for Kepa in coming games.
According to the report, Luis Enrique has told David de Gea he can no longer guarantee him the No.1 shirt for Spain as he prepares to start Kepa Arrizabalaga on Sunday.
De Gea was criticised during the World Cup, when he failed to save an effort from Cristiano Ronaldo, and he was at fault again on Thursday when he parried the ball into the path of Tin Jedvaj as Croatia sealed a 3-2 victory.
Kepa could be given the chance to impress against Bosnia and Herzegovina on Sunday and a good performance could see him contend with De Gea for the number one Spain shirt.
