Match of the Day pundit Martin Keown believes Chelsea should have had a penalty against Wolves for Willy Boly’s challenge on Alvaro Morata.
With Chelsea winning 1-0, Morata had the chance to double our lead, but as he went to slide home a cross from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Willy Boly clattered into him.
However, referee Jonathan Moss waved away the penalty appeals.
Keown admitted he was surprised that Moss didn’t point to the spot after the challenge on Morata.
When asked for his thoughts on the spot kick, Keown said: “I think Chelsea should have had a penalty.
“Morata gets completely taken out here.
“I can’t believe the referee doesn’t give this.
“That was at 1-0.
“So you can say that they were maybe denied a pen.
“It’s his failure really Morata not to score goals recently.
“That’s two defeats in their last three matches for Chelsea and the wheels are coming off.”
Despite dominating possession and having 17 attempts on goal, Chelsea lost 2-1 and slipped to fourth on the Premier League table, with Tottenham moving above Chelsea to third.
Next up for Chelsea is a home game against Premier League leaders Manchester City on Saturday. It is a must win game for Chelsea as City could open a 13-point gap over Chelsea if we lose.
