Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly told Chelsea to play him or lose him, according to Bleacher Report.
The 18-year-old is reportedly stalling on signing a new five-year contract at the club until he receives assurances about getting more game time.
Hudson-Odoi’s contract expires in the summer of 2020 and Chelsea offered him a new contract in the summer but the youngster has stalled on signing the new contract due to concerns over playing time at Chelsea.
Chelsea plan on sending Hudson-Odoi on loan in January only after he signs a new contract but Hudson-Odoi is hoping to play Premier League football, which he feels he is ready for, and as such, isn’t prepared to join a Championship club on loan.
Hudson-Odoi started against PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday having previously made two substitute appearances in the competition. He scored his first Chelsea goal in the game while also providing the assist for Alvaro Morata’s goal.
Despite his excellent showing, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri doesn’t think he is ready to play Premier League football.
Chelsea fans won’t happy if the club loses a talent like Hudson-Odoi. He’s quick and skilful, which makes him difficult to defend against in one-on-one situations.
Sarri must now find a way to offer the 18-year-old more first team opportunities so we don’t lose him.
