Chelsea are preparing to challenge AC Milan in the race to sign £45million-rated Denis Suarez from Barcelona in January, according to Daily Mail.
The 24-year-old midfielder wants to leave Barcelona in January after having struggling to cement a starting berth under Ernesto Valverde.
Suarez has made just two appearances for Barcelona this season with none coming in the La Liga.
The Spain international is looking for more game time and is open to another stint in the Premier League – having spent two seasons at Manchester City as a teenager.
Seria A side AC Milan are looking to sign the 24-year-old midfielder on loan in January, with an option to keep him permanently in the summer.
Barcelona reportedly want money up front and Chelsea are preparing to challenge AC Milan for the midfielder by making a move to sign Suarez permanently in January.
Meanwhile, the Blues have offered Eden Hazard a £300,000-a-week contract that would make him the highest-paid player in Chelsea’s history.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri confirmed Chelsea’s contract offer to Hazard on Tuesday.
“It’s up to him,” Sarri said. “The club is available to sign a new contract immediately but it’s up to him if he wants to renew.”
