For the first time since 2011, Chelsea U18s won’t play in the FA Youth Cup final after our 4-3 loss to Manchester United’s U18s on Thursday in the third round of the competition.

Our exit from the FA Youth Cup means Chelsea U18s won’t win the trophy for the first time since 2013.

Chelsea U18s have won six out of the past seven finals of the FA youth Cup, and only twice failed to reach the final in 10 seasons.

The loss to Manchester United’s U18s was the first defeat for our U18s in over five years in the FA Youth Cup competition.

Mason Greenwood scored a hat-trick to fire the hosts to a 4-3 victory, with former Chelsea youngster Di’shon Bernard also on the scoresheet for the Red Devils. Tariq Lamptey, Tino Anjorin and Daishawn Redan were on the score sheet for the Chelsea youth team.

An early exit denies Chelsea the chance to equal Manchester United’s record of 10 FA Youth Cup wins.
