Eden Hazard started the season in blistering form, and the Belgian international took his World Cup form to Chelsea, and many tipped him for the Ballon d’Or award.
However, Hazard’s form has dropped since October, and Chelsea have struggled as a result.
Hazard racked up 10 goals for club and country by the start of October but hasn’t found the net for Chelsea or Belgium in his last 11 matches. Hazard has since been stuck in 7 Premier League goals, and Martin Keown wants to see the best of Hazard against Manchester City on Saturday.
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown wants Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri to bring the best out of Hazard by demanding more from the Chelsea star.
“When Eden Hazard is on it, I do not believe there is a defender in world football who could live with him,” said the former Arsenal defender.
“Hazard is without a goal in 11 games for club and country. When such a brilliant player has a dip in form like this, it is up to the manager to push him.
“Maurizio Sarri needs to demand more from him and let him know in no uncertain terms that Chelsea are reliant on him.
“Should Chelsea’s season peter out, it could be the last we see of Hazard in the Premier League.
“If he is going to go, let’s see if he can leave a dent in this Manchester City team first.”
