Eden Hazard joined Chelsea in 2012 as an exciting 21-year-old with lots of prospects, and now the Belgian has developed into being one of the best players in the world at the moment.

The 27-year-old has won two Premier League titles and has also been crowned PFA Player of the Year in his six-year stay at the club, and he has indeed come a long way – little wonder he’s the delight of every Chelsea fan.

Hazard turns 28 in January, and he has revealed that he has come a long way at the club and acts more maturely than his younger days.

He told the official Chelsea website (laughing): “I came as a kid. Now I’m a big man!”

“Football is my job, but I enjoyed it 20 years ago, I enjoyed it 10 years ago and I enjoy it now. In that respect I haven’t changed a lot.

“I prepare for games exactly the same as I did when I was younger. But now the difference is that I am getting older and I need to take more care of my body. I work a bit in the gym with the physio. Five years ago I just enjoyed training and then I went home.

“Now I take my time. Recovery sessions are important for me now. That’s the big change, but after that I’m the same guy, with the same happiness on the pitch.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
