Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri opted to play Eden Hazard as a centre forward in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri left Olivier Giroud on the bench with Alvaro Morata failing to make the squad.
Hazard has now opened up on playing as the main striker in the victory over Manchester City on Saturday.
“I like it, because I played it last year also, so I know what to do, but the feeling is a bit strange because you don’t touch the ball a lot,” Hazard said.
“You just need to focus on what you need to do and I tried to do my best, we won and that is what is important.”
Hazard was impressive against City, providing the assist for both goals against Manchester City.
The Belgian also urged his teammates to focus on the next matches over the busy festive period.
“We just want to win games and now this one has finished, we can enjoy the win, but we need to be focused for the game on Thursday and next week at Brighton,” Hazard added.
Sarri confirmed after the game against Manchester City that he will use Hazard in the same position in future matches.
“He had some problems at the beginning of the match, but I think he played really a very great second half,”Sarri said.
“Maybe he deserved to score.
“I think it’s a very good option. We will play like today in the future for some matches of course.”
