Mateo Kovacic has revealed Eden Hazard has asked him about life in Real Madrid.
Hazard is reportedly a target for Real Madrid and the Belgian captain is yet to sign a new Chelsea contract with 18 months left in his contract.
Kovacic is on a season long loan from Real Madrid.
“For me, he is an incredible player,” Kovacic said when quizzed about Hazard, according to Daily Express.
“I did not know he was that good and he can easily be one of the two or three best players in the world.
“He asked me how it was there (at Real) but we are looking forward to having a great season together, to be fully concentrated on Chelsea.
“He is focused a lot on doing great things with Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea legend Michael Essien has hinted Hazard might leave for Real Madrid but hopes the Belgian remains at Stamford Bridge.
“Hazard is one of the best players in the world,” Essien told Daily Express.
“He’s been playing in the Premier League very well and looks fantastic at the moment.
“The interest of Real Madrid, I only hear from people in the media.
“But I mean when Real Madrid come calling… every player would love to play for them.
“He’s happy at Chelsea though and hopefully we can keep him.”
