Loftus-Cheek started his first Premier League game of the season in Chelsea’s 2-1 loss at Wolves on Wednesday night.
His goal against Wolves was his sixth in his last seven appearances in all competitions.
According to Loftus-Cheek, Chelsea lost at Wolves because we were sloppy as a team in the second half.
Chelsea dominated the game in the first half and when Loftus-Cheek scored in the 18th minute, it seemed like all three points were in the bag. However, Chelsea conceded in the space of four minutes in the second half and never came close to changing the outcome.
“We felt in control first half, felt comfortable and were playing some good football,” Loftus-Cheek told Goal.
“But they came out fast second half and we were sloppy as a team. In the Premier League, if you’re sloppy you pay for it and that’s what happened.”
With Chelsea playing league leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Loftus-Cheek has urged his teammates to turn things around.
“We train every day as a team and we should expect to play well whoever plays,” Loftus-Cheek added.
“We have to take this loss and turn it around quickly because we have a tough game on the weekend. We need to move on very quickly.
”We’re very disappointed, it’s a period with a lot of games and points at stake. We’ll pick our heads up and go again.”
