Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 1-0 to get to the semi-final of the Carabao Cup after a difficult game at Stamford Bridge.
It had to take an Eden Hazard goal six minutes from time for Chelsea to get the win, with Hazard coming on after the hour mark in place of Ross Barkley.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek started this game and the 22-year-old was one of the best players on the pitch and looked very dangerous whenever he had the ball.
Loftus-Cheek played the entire game, and started up front as one of Chelsea’s front three before ending the game as an advanced midfielder.
Speaking after the game, Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola admitted he was pleased with loftus-Cheek’s performance.
Zola said: “I was impressed with him. He has done well as a wide player, but he showed a lot of sacrifice as a midfielder. He was getting tired but was disciplined.
“He is gone far away from the beginning of the season. He is a good boy and works very hard.”
