Chelsea’s biggest game of the season has come as the Blues will host Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
It’s a must win game for Chelsea, and a game that could go a long way to decide whether Maurizio Sarri’s side will remain in the title race.
Chelsea are currently 4th on the table and the defeat to Wolves took the Blues 10 points behind leaders Manchester City. A defeat will increase the gap to 13 points just midway through the season, and that could be it for Chelsea. A defeat could also hurt Chelsea’s top four chances, with Tottenham and Arsenal in good form at the moment.
Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has tipped Manchester City to win the game 2-1.
He said: “If you are going on form, you can’t see anything but a Man City win. If City get this game out of the way and don’t lose, I don’t see how they don’t go through the whole league season without losing.
“There’s this game and then Manchester United away but they play Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal at home so if they come through this game unscathed I really don’t see where they lose.”
Chelsea have been poor recently, and the Blues has suffered two defeats in their last three games.
Man City are undoubtedly favourites for this game, but the Blues have to enter this game with belief and we could just get that victory.
