It wasn’t an easy battle for the Blues against Watford at the Vicarage Road, but an Eden Hazard brace sealed the victory for Chelsea either side of Roberto Pereyra’s goal.

Kepa: Couldn’t do anything about Pereyra’s goal, and got away with a loose pass to Gerard Deulofeu that almost cost the team. Made a good save nevertheless and some of his timely runs saved the team’s defence. 6/10

Luiz: Not really comfortable at the back today and made a couple of poor passes. 6/10

Rudiger: Had a difficult game against the physical Troy Deeney, and his poor headed clearance led to the corner that Chelsea conceded from. Got better in the second half. 6/10

Alonso: Found it difficult against Watford’s pressing and wasn’t too solid at the back. Went forward pretty well. 6/10

Azpilicueta: Was solid defensively and got forward to help the team from the right flank pretty well. Squared in one fantastic ball into the box but Hazard couldn’t get to the end of it. 7.5/10

Jorginho: Played a lovely little ball over the top to Hazard for him to win the penalty and pressed really hard in midfield. Dictated the middle well enough. 7/10

Kante: Was all over the pitch working hard for the team. Involved in the pressing that led to Hazard’s first goal, and helped the team in some counterattacking situations. Missed a good chance to add to the scoreline. 7/10

Kovacic: Had a good game. Was confidence on the ball, pressed hard and played the assist for Hazard’s opener. 7/10

Willian: Had a good game; worked hard, was a constant threat to Watford but couldn’t find the target. 7/10

Pedro: Started the game pretty well and was looking lively until he hobbled off with a suspected hamstring injury in the 43rd minute. 5/10

Hazard: Led the line pretty well, and got his 100th Chelsea goal with a cool finish in first-half injury time. Scored the penalty with composure and held up play very well. 9/10


Hudson-Odoi: Came on for the injured Pedro but didn’t really impact the game. 5/10

Barkley: Came on for Kovacic but he didn’t really add much to the midfield.

Emerson: Was very exciting in the five minutes he was on the pitch. 6/10
