Maurizio Sarri took Napoli to a whole new level during his time at Naples, and he took the Italian club to its most competitive heights in recent times.

The former banker led Napoli to a record 91 points, but unfortunately for him it wasn’t still enough to win the league, as an in-form Juventus side ended up winners with 95 points.

Napoli star Dries Mertens establish himself as one of Europe’s top strikers during Sarri’s reign at Napoli, and the forward has revealed that Sarri is obsessed with football.

Mertens told The Times: “Sarri does not have an off button. I think he sleeps one hour a night and he is always thinking about football.

“Maybe because he had less time because he arrived late in the game and he is playing catch-up? I learnt a lot from him.”

Mertens believes that Sarri’s style of play makes it easy for the forward players, and they’ll feel like they have an added player on the pitch.

Mertens also joked that Sarri is crazy and is obsessed with facts and information.

Mertens added: “The thing I loved most about him is that you feel you are playing with 12 not 11. He puts the line very high so the strikers feel the midfielders are close.

“I’m sure now Sarri is learning things about London. He knows so many facts, he’s crazy but interesting.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
