Goals from N’Golo Kante and David Luiz helped Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri revealed after the game that he was happy with N’Golo Kante’s positioning against Manchester City.
“I think that today he scored by chance because they played very close to Jorginho more than in the other matches,” Sarri said of Kante.
“He defended very well, some counters were good and he was in the box in the first goal but I think that today he played in the right position, very close to Jorginho.”
Sarri also admitted he was happy with the performance of Luiz against Manchester City.
“I have to say that I am very happy,” Sarri said of Luiz.
“There are matches like this one in which it is easier to stay on the defensive line because the movement is working very well, but there are matches where it is difficult like Tottenham.
“All the team have been very well.”
Sarri also revealed why Alvaro Morata failed to make the matchday squad against Manchester City.
“It was clear we had Hazard as a striker, so we have to change something there was Giroud,” Sarri said.
“It was useless to have two strikers on the bench and I prefer to have more midfielders today I was in trouble with the wingers so the option was Loftus so I prefer this.”
