It’s far from being rumours that Chelsea want to sign Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain who’s on loan to AC Milan.

Reports claim Chelsea have agreed a loan deal with Higuain’s parent club Juventus and the move is expected to be completed once AC Milan get a replacement for Higuain.

Juventus have reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea over Higuain, and the Blues are expected to subsidise the Argentine’s £270,000 weekly wages until the end of the season.

And now, AC Milan have agreed terms with Genoa over the signing of Krzysztof Piatek. The 23-year-old is expected to sign a five-year deal with Milan after they agreed a £30.9m fee with Genoa.

Atletico Madrid are expected to sign Morata on loan with an option to buy him at the end of the season, with Higuain expected to replace him at the Bridge.

Higuain was not included in the 23-man squad that will take on Genoa on Monday, and Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso confirmed he had taken the decision after speaking to the Argentine.

He said: “I want to be honest with you all. We had a poor training session today due to all these rumours.

“We spoke after the training session and I did not consider him ready for this game.

“I accept his decision. Surely he could have done more and maybe we could have helped him fit in better.

“Right now we have to work with professionalism and determination, all these rumours have not helped us lately and we have to look ahead.”

Milan now have to terminate Higuain’s loan deal, and Chelsea are confident the Argentine will arrive in time to play against Tottenham on Thursday.

Morata has his heart set on a return to Spain, having failed to deliver after one-and-a-half-year in England – and according to reputable journalist Tancredi Palmeri, the deal is done.

The Italian reporter simply posted a brief tweet: “Morata has signed for Atletico.”

  1. I wish Sarri will just understand that the false 9 is not working, put Giroud on that pitch, allow Hazard to play from the wings, Pedro should support, Jehingo should start from the becnh, let Kante play is normal role, the Sarri ball of holding the ball without penetration is not working, if care is not taken we might not make top four again
