There seem to be rumours claiming that Chelsea’s move for Higuain has hit a rock due to stalled negotiations with Juventus, but Chelsea fans seem to be convinced Higuain is heading to Stamford Bridge after he was absent from AC Milan’s squad photo on Wednesday.

The Milan club are currently in Saudi Arabia for their Supercoppa Italiana clash with Juventus on Wednesday evening. Ahead of the match, the AC Milan squad, manager Gennaro Gatusso and new chief executive Ivan Gazidis posed for a photo alongside the Saudi Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal.

Chelsea fans were quick to notice that Higuain was missing in the photo, and believe that the club has already signed the 31-year-old.

However, AC Milan have claimed that Higuain was receiving treatment on an injury while the photo was being taken.

Maurizio Sarri is desperate for the Argentina international to join Chelsea as he looks to bolster his attacking options in the January transfer window, as he has given up on striking duo Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata, insisting to play Eden Hazard as a striker until the club sign a new centre-forward.

According to Standard Sport, Juventus have rejected Chelsea’s 18-month loan bid for Higuain.

Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan and the report claims Juventus and AC Milan are set to hold showdown talks in the coming days to discuss the future of the striker.

Higuain is keen on joining Chelsea this January, but the Blues want a loan deal instead. Juventus reportedly rejected Chelsea’s offer of an 18-month loan bid and instead want Chelsea to accept AC Milan’s loan terms for Higuain, which included an option to buy the 31-year-old for £32m in the summer.
