Chelsea are considering making a move for Heerenveen winger Arber Zeneli, according to a report on the Daily Mail.
The left-winger is out of contract in the summer and could be available for as little as £5million this January according to the report.
A Chelsea scout will check out the 23-year-old this weekend when Zeneli is expected to start against Ajax in Amsterdam.
Chelsea have been reportedly impressed with the performances of the 23-year-old winger so far this season and he is also attracting interest from other European clubs. Chelsea are understood not to be the only English club monitoring the 23-year-old winger.
The Kosovo international has been in great form for Heerenveen this season, contributing ten assists and five goals.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are set to complete a deal for AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain this weekend after agreeing a loan deal with his parent club Juventus.
Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders has hailed Higuain as a great finisher.
“What a signing that is for Chelsea,” Saunders told talkSPORT. “That’s exactly what Chelsea need, a player of that ilk. He’s a class act, a great finisher and gets goals everywhere he’s been.”
Saunders also believes Higuain would have chosen to join Tottenham ahead of Chelsea if Spurs wanted to sign him last summer because Chelsea couldn’t offer Champions League football this season.
“What are Spurs going to do?” Saunders continued. “They had an advantage over Chelsea at the start of the season because Chelsea weren’t in the Champions League, Spurs were in the Champions League.
“So Higuain, if he had an option in the summer for what club to go for, he maybe would have taken less wages and gone to Spurs because they were in the Champions League.”
