Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is reportedly being targeted by Chelsea according to a report on Spanish media outlet AS via Daily Mirror.
Chelsea aren’t the only Premier League side interested in the Danish international. Manchester City are also interested in the 26-year-old, according to the report.
Eriksen’s Tottenham contract will expire in 2020 and with the midfielder stalling on signing a new contract, he is expected to leave Tottenham this summer.
La Liga giants Real Madrid are seriously considering making a move for the talented playmaker but they expect to face a competition for his signature from Chelsea and Manchester City.
“It’s hard to name just one particular top-level club who are keeping a close eye on him,” a source close to Eriksen told AS, “because there are sides from England, Spain, Italy and Germany.”
Eriksen moved to White Hart Lane from Ajax in 2013 and has come on leaps and bounds since.
Despite his contract expiring in 2020, Tottenham would reportedly demand as much as £100 million for the 26-year-old midfielder.
While I would love Eriksen to join Chelsea, it hard to see the midfielder moving to Stamford Bridge. Tottenham would prefer selling him to Real Madrid than Chelsea due to the intense rivalry between both clubs.
