Chelsea’s latest signing Gonzalo Higuain made his debut in our FA Cup win over Sheffield Wednesday.

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola revealed after the win at Stamford Bridge that he was happy with Gonzalo Higuain’s Chelsea debut despite not scoring and thinks there is plenty more to come from the Argentine.

Asked what he made of Higuain’s debut, Zola said: “Considering it is the first game, you will see more from him.

“A couple of times in the first half he made a couple of great moves but we couldn’t find the right ball. I am personally satisfied with him, but he is going to get better because he needs to build up an understanding with the others.

“Sometimes in the first half he was making movements but we couldn’t see his movements and this is something we need to do.”

Speaking to BBC, Zola added: “We are pleased with Gonzalo Higuain’s performance, he was trying to find the space and get on the ball.

“It wasn’t easy as they had a lot of players round him.”
