Former Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has revealed he wants to make the move to Chelsea next summer.
Depay joined Manchester United in the summer of 2015 for a fee of £25million but failed to live up to the hype and joined Lyon 18 months later.
Depay was a highly-rated prospect after a brilliant World Cup with the Netherlands back in 2014 and an impressive season with PSV in the 2014/15 season.
The former Manchester United no.7 has rebuilt his career at Lyon and believes he is now ready to make the move to a top club like Chelsea.
The winger scored 22 goals for Lyon in all competitions last season and has another six to his name this term, along with 12 assists but scored only seven goals in 53 appearances for Manchester United.
“I also want to make a transfer to a top club again this summer,” Depay told Dutch magazine Helden.
“Lyon is a big club, but is not one of the five best in Europe.
“I want to go to a club like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain or Bayern Munich.
“I want to go to a city that suits me and a club that suits me, to a team that really wants to play football.”
“I was not happy, especially not with myself. I tried to be how others wanted to see me, so I lost myself,” Depay said of his time at Manchester United.
“I have learned from it and therefore I look back on it personally with a positive feeling.
“But on football, everyone knows that I could do a lot better. I am now a completely different player than back then.”
