Lyon star Nabil Fekir insists Chelsea haven’t made any official contact with Lyon amid rumours of Chelsea’s interest in the World Cup winner.
Fekir was on the verge of joining Liverpool last summer but a deal collapsed after a medical uncovered an issue with Fekir’s knee.
Despite completing a deal to bring Christian Pulisic to Stamford Bridge during the summer, Chelsea continue to be linked with a move for Fekir, who won the World Cup with France.
Asked about Chelsea’s reported interest, Fekir said: “They haven’t called me, but they can be watching my situation without calling me.
“I do not know [if this will be my last season]. Last year was supposed to be my last, and in the end I’m still here.
“I cannot know the answer to this. I am happy at Lyon, but which player doesn’t dream of discovering a new league, another club?
“Discussions are ongoing. I have sat down with the president, things are advancing slowly. When will I take a decision?
“I am not fixing myself a date, I am not in a rush. Nobody is putting any pressure on it and I like to take my time.”
Fekir scored 23 goals in 39 games for Lyon last season and has scored 8 goals in 20 appearances this season.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed in August that Chelsea turned down the chance to sign Fekir last summer.
Aulas said: “In the beginning, when we thought about our summer transfer window and how to organise the future squad, we thought that he [Fekir] was practically gone.
“That’s why we have been able to adapt things.
“We spoke with Chelsea representatives, and they had no interest at all in him.
“From then on, we realised we could change our plans [as he would stay].”
