Chelsea are through to the final of the Carabao Cup after defeating Tottenham on penalty shootout.

The Blues were 2-0 ahead and should have won the game with that scoreline, but a Fernando Llorente header early in the second half set the game 2-2 on aggregate and both teams went to a straight penalty shootout, with Chelsea winning the resultant penalty.

Chelsea were by far the better team over the two legs. See the player ratings below:

Kepa: Barely had anything to do all through the game and was unfortunate to see Spurs only shot on target find the back of the net via a Llorente header. Was a hero in the penalty shootout as Chelsea went on to win the game via a shootout. 8/10

Luiz: His only flaw was that he was beaten by Llorente for Spurs’ only goal. Had a good game nevertheless, continued with his long range accurate passes, and scored the winning goal in the penalty shootout. 7.5/10

Rudiger: Was aggressive in defence. Won headers, won tackles and made sure his goal was well protected. 8/10

Azpilicueta: Enjoyed lots of space going forward in the first-half and played a perfect ball in for Eden Hazard to score. His forward movements were restricted in the second-half as Spurs got into the game. Played a powerful penalty in the shootout. 7.5/10

Emerson: The Brazilian showed that he has what it takes to be in the first team as he was brilliant all through the game. Bombarded the left flank especially in the first-half and was solid as well at the back. Made his presence felt with some good balls from the left, including a stunning cross right at the death to Giroud, but he wasted the chance. 8/10

Jorginho: Had a good game especially in the first-half when he dominated the midfield. Scored a cheeky penalty in the second-half. 7.5/10

Kante: Worked very hard and did well going forward. Capped his excellent performance with a beautiful goal from the edge of the box in the first half. 8/10

Barkley: Had a good first-half, linked up well with attack but faded a bit in the second-half. 7/10

Pedro: Had some good moments, worked hard and helped the team. 7/10

Hazard: Was brilliant tonight as he played in a more familiar role. Scored a spectacular goal and was a threat all through the game. 9/10

Giroud: His hold-up play was good but his finishing tonight was poor. Missed a number of good chances. 6/10

Willian: Added a little spark after coming on for Pedro but his end product was poor. Scored his penalty. 5/10

Kovacic: Replaced Barkley with just ten minutes left. 5/10

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
