Chelsea were dominant against Tottenham Hotspur away from home, but the Blues were unfortunate to have lost the game 1-0 courtesy of a penalty kick scored by Harry Kane.

There’s still more to play for in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final and there are a lot of positives to take from this game.

See the player ratings below:

Kepa: Was unfortunate to have collided with Harry Kane for the penalty decision. Other than that, he was comfortable in goal and made one good save. 6/10

Rudiger: Was strong against Harry Kane, and was rarely threatened at the back. Won aerial duels comfortably and used his speed to quickly recover in some dangerous situations. 6/10

Christensen: Had a shaky start when the game started, but got on pretty comfortable. Missed an absolute sitter in the second half and should have scored. 5/10

Alonso: The Spaniard hasn’t been in form in recent weeks, and tonight’s performance was average at best. 5/10

Azpilicueta: Solid defensively at right-back, but he didn’t watch his line as he made the man onside which led to the penalty. Helped the attack more in the second-half. 6/10

Jorginho: Another below par performance from the Italian. His forward passes were missing and when he did make them it wasn’t the best of passes. 5/10

Kante: Had a great game and was one of the best players on the pitch. Had a lot of energy and overworked himself in the middle of the park. Attacking wise, he was good as well. He was everywhere and made some good forward runs. 8/10

Barkley: Ordinary performance. Didn’t add any spark. 5/10

Willian: Didn’t do much to worry Tottenham’s backline, but worked hard while he was on the pitch. 5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Was a constant threat on the right flank and made life uneasy for Danny Rose. After the introduction of Pedro, he switched to the left flank and became quiet there. Impressive game from the youngster. 7/10

Hazard: Looked like he was trying to do so much by himself as he had to drop deep at times to get the ball and start the attacking play. Had a good game nevertheless but was frustrated with some poor passes from his teammates at times.

Pedro: Added energy after coming on. 6/10

Kovacic: Didn’t really impact the game after replacing Barkley with 15 minutes left. 5/10

Giroud: Came on for Hudson-Odoi with ten minutes left but didn’t have any tangible chance. 5/10
