Christian Pulisic joined Chelsea in a £57.6 million move before being loaned back to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season.
Pulisic is Chelsea’s second most expensive outfield player after striker Alvaro Morata.
The 20-year-old have always had ambitions of playing in the Premier League and he believes Chelsea is the best club for him in the Premier League because of the Blues’ style of play under Maurizio Sarri. Acording to Pulisic, the playing style favoured by Sarri at Chelsea suits him.
“I’ve seen their style of play,” Pulisic said.
“I’ve always appreciated how they’ve played football, and it’s really nice how they play now, with their new coach. It fits me very well.”
Pulisic was also linked with Liverpool before signing for Chelsea.
Asked about Liverpool’s interest in him, Pulisic said: “I do not want to talk about that. I am happy to have made my decision for Chelsea.
“My head is now a bit freer. I hope that people understand my decision and also know that I will give everything here [at Dortmund] until the end and want to help our season to be a great one.”
Pulisic joined Dortmund as a youth player in 2015 and has made more than 100 appearances for the German club. The American international hopes to bow out in style by giving his best between now and the end of the season to help secure some silverware for Dortmund, who are six points clear of Bayern Munich at the top of the German league table.
“It’s good now that it’s out and people know about my future but I’m really excited I have the chance to be here for the rest of the season,” the 20-year-old said at Dortmund’s training camp in Marbella,” Pulisic added.
“The only thing I can say is I hope people understand my decision and I also hope they understand that I am here 100 per cent and very focused to finish out the season with Dortmund. I am really excited.
“It’s a really good time for me and I have had an amazing five years in Germany. It’s been incredible and I am so thankful for that.
“It’s been a dream of mine [to play in the Premier League] and I am really excited for this move and I feel like it was just the right time for me.”
Pulisic also admitted he will be eternally grateful for the opportunities he has been given in Germany with Dortmund.
Pulisic said: “Without BVB I would never have had the opportunity to fulfil my dream in England.
“It was the perfect start to my career. When I was quite young I had no idea if it was the right decision or not, but now I know it was and therefore I’m grateful for everything – the fans, the city, the club, I’ll 100 per cent miss it all.”
