Following Chelsea’s embarrassing 4-0 loss to Bournemouth on Wednesday night, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri locked himself in the dressing room with the players for almost 50 minutes, asking the rest of his coaching staff to leave.

The Italian summoned an emergency meeting with the players at the heat of the moment and it was said to be intense. Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta revealed afterwards that they spoke as men and said what needed to be said.

“Afterwards we spoke as men between the manager and the players. We are very angry. It is unacceptable for Chelsea and we have to find the solutions,” he said.

“Conceding four goals is unacceptable, and we are very angry with that. We expected another result. To lose 4-0 as Chelsea players is unacceptable.”

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Hazard also reiterated what Azpilicueta said, revealing that the players spoke as men in the dressing room.

“When you lose it’s always good to talk together,” Hazard emphasised.

“We did it for 40, 45 minutes. We are men. We talk, we did, and we are just happy to win.

“That was better than Wednesday for sure. When you lose a game in the week you need to bounce back. We did well in front of the Chelsea fans, we deserved to win. We did a fantastic game, maybe one of the best of the season, so we are happy.”

Sarri questioned Hazard’s performance in the game against Bournemouth, and the Belgian responded with a man of the match performance against Huddersfield in the following game and a brace, and he hopes he has answered the manager’s questions about him.

He said: “I hope we gave him [Sarri] the response he wants. Now we need to keep winning like this.

“Sunday we have a tough game: Manchester City away is going to be difficult, but we are good players, we are Chelsea, so we can do it.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
