Chelsea can move back to fourth if we avoid a defeat against Manchester City at the Etihad today. The Blues dropped to fifth after Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Manchester United have played one game more than Chelsea and have 51 points while Chelsea have 50 points with a better goal difference. Arsenal, who have also played one game more than Chelsea, have 50 points.
Despite it being really tight between fourth and sixth, Graeme Souness believes Arsenal have no chance of finishing fourth. According to Souness, it’s a two-horse race between Chelsea and Manchester United.
Souness believes Chelsea will win more games now with Gonzalo Higuain in the team.
“It’s a straight fight between Chelsea and Manchester United for fourth now,” Souness told the Sunday Times.
“But Chelsea will be looking over their shoulders because United are dangerous and, right now, the momentum is there with them and they are on a roll.
“Chelsea will win more games with Higuain scoring goals for them, but we will have to wait and see if he can take them to fourth place.”
Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in December and fans would be expecting another win over Manchester City on Sunday.
