Chelse star Eden Hazard admitted this week to having made a decision on his Chelsea future, with his Chelsea contract expiring in June 2020 and amid repeated links with a move to Real Madrid.
According to reports, the club have offered the Belgian a new contract in excess of £300,000 per week but the 28 year old is yet to sign the new contract.
Ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League game with Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri insists he wants Hazard to be happy wherever his future lies. Sarri also urged Hazard to make a decision on his future.
“I speak every day with Eden, but I speak with Eden about his position on the pitch, not about… I will be really very happy with him if he will want to stay, because in my opinion he’s the best in Europe,” Sarri said.
“And so I would be really very happy, but it’s up to him, I think. I want to see him happy. And so, he has to decide.”
Hazard’s linkup play with Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain was very good in the 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town last weekend and Sarri believes both players are suitable to play together.
“I think Gonzalo is a great player. He did very well everywhere. In Madrid, in Naples, in Milan. Maybe not very well in Milan, but he’s a great player and I think he’s very useful for Eden,” Sarri said.
“They are really very suitable to play together, I think. It’s very important for us he’s determinate. I think the impact with other players we really very good for us.”
