Eden Hazard is expected to tell Chelsea in the coming days that he wants to leave for Real Madrid in the summer, according to a report on The Telegraph.
In an interview with French radio station RMC, as part of a documentary about his career that will be aired on Wednesday night, Hazard said: “I know what I will do. I have made my decision.”
According to The Telegraph, that decision is to leave Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Even though Chelsea had hoped the Belgium would sign a new contract, the board have also been planning for life without Hazard just in case the Belgium leave at the end of the season.
Chelsea already have Christian Pulisic moving to Stamford Bridge from Borussia Dortmund in the summer but the club plans to sign a big name if Hazard leaves.
According to The Telegraph, Chelsea want to replace Hazard with Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho if the Belgium leaves at the end of the season.
Coutinho moved to Barcelona from Liverpool about a year ago for £142million but has struggled to make a mark at Barcelona.
He is battling Ousmane Dembele for a place in the Barcelona team and has started just 13 times in La Liga, scoring four goals and setting up two.
Daily Express claim Chelsea have asked Barcelona to be kept in the loop should Coutinho be made available to leave.
