Following Eden Hazard’s brilliant performance in Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon, Chelsea legend Pat Nevin has urged Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri to criticize the Belgian every week.
Sarri kept the players in the dressing room for nearly an hour following Chelsea’s 4-0 loss at Bournemouth on Wednesday and Hazard was reportedly singled out by Sarri.
Hazard responded to Sarri’s criticism by scoring a brace in the win over Huddersfield. Nevin joked after the Belgian’s performance against Huddersfield that Sarri should criticize Hazard every week if it ups his performance.
“Hazard has been brilliant today particularly in this second half,” Nevin told the BBC.
“He is at a very difficult angle for the goal, maybe the manager should have a dig at him every week because he has reacted superbly.”
Meanwhile, Sarri was impressed with the linkup play between Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard in Chelsea’s win over Huddersfield.
“I know very well that, when he arrived, he wasn’t at the top of his physical condition,” Sarri said. “Now he is improving. I’m really very happy because, apart from the goals, my feeling is he’s really suitable to play very close to Eden.
“I think that, on the pitch, they are really very suitable to play one close to the other. For us, this is very useful for Higuain because he will be able to score a lot of goals, but also for Eden.”
