Chelsea progressed to the last-16 of the Europa League after a 5-1 aggregate win over Swedish club Malmo.
The draw for the last-16 of the competition took place today and Chelsea have avoided the competition’s biggest names including Sevilla, Napoli and Inter Milan. An all-English tie against Arsenal was also avoided as there are no restrictions on nationalities facing each other at this stage.
Chelsea will face a tricky tie against Ukraine’s Dynamo Kiev in the last-16 of the Europa League. The Blues will play the first leg at Stamford Bridge on March 7 and make a 3,000-mile round trip to Ukraine in second leg on March 14.
Dynamo Kiev came through a Europa League group containing Rennes, Jabonlec and Astana, before beating Olympiakos in the round of 32. Dynamo Kiev are currently second in the Ukrainian Premier League, seven points behind leaders Shakhtar Donetsk and have twice won the Cup Winners’ Cup.
Chelsea beat Dynamo Kiev 2-1 in the 2015/16 Champions League group stage in Stamford Bridge and were held to a goalless draw at the 70,000-capacity Olympic Stadium in the Ukrainian capital.
The Europa League last-16 draw:
