Chelsea have never had it that bad in the Premier League as the Blues suffered a 6-0 defeat in the hands of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The defeat to City is the worst the club has suffered in Premier League history, and Chelsea were poor all through that game.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo has admitted that it’s difficult to pinpoint what exactly went wrong against City and insists it’s time the team forget about the loss, learn from it and move on.
“It’s difficult to explain,” the 27-year-old said.
“They outclassed us. It was a collective failing. They outclassed us from the first minute to the last minute, and they made the difference in the first minutes of the first half. It was very difficult to come back from that.
“It’s a great disappointment and we have to react. It’s difficult to accept such a heavy defeat, but we have a lot of matches coming up to lift our heads and give us hope for good results at the end of this season.
“We all have disappointment etched across our faces,” concluded Kante.
“But we’ve got a lot to learn from this, and hopefully we will not repeat the same mistakes in the future.”
Chelsea’s performance was so bad against City that within 25 minutes into the game, the Blues had already conceded four goals.
According to Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has turned Chelsea into Arsenal after the humiliating 6-0 loss to Manchester City on Sunday.
“I called a couple of Chelsea performances a disgrace going into this game, this is as bad as anything,” Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“Looking at Sarri, just over halfway through his first season, but the worst thing I can say is it looks like he’s turned Chelsea into Arsenal.
“That Arsenal team that just used to get battered for the last seven or eight years away from home in big games because they were too weak.
“You could never say that about Chelsea, no matter what’s gone on, that they’ve been weak. We’re watching a really weak football team here.”
