Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists Chelsea star Eden Hazard has what it takes to succeed at Spanish club Real Madrid.
Hazard has been linked with a summer move to Real Madrid all season and with the Belgian captain yet to sign a new contract, it is believed he would leave the club at the end of the season.
Hazard also hasn’t hidden his admiration for Real Madrid and he reiterated in October that joining Los Blancos was a childhood dream of his.
Mourinho managed Hazard at Chelsea between 2013 and 2015 and has backed Hazard to succeed at Real Madrid.
“Does he have the talent to play for Real Madrid? He does,” Mourinho said.
“Does he have the personality to put on a ‘super-heavy’ shirt and play in front of the fans at the Bernabeu? Yes, he has the personality.
“Regarding Eden’s ambitions…be it playing for Chelsea his whole life or playing for a giant like Real Madrid, I can’t say, because I haven’t spoken to him for a long time.”
The 28-year-old has scored 15 goals and made 10 assists in 35 games for Chelsea this season and has been one of the standout performers for Chelsea this season.
Whether Hazard signs a new contract or moves to Real Madrid, only time will tell.
