The future of Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri looks even more uncertain after Chelsea’s 2-0 FA Cup loss to Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Sarri’s stubbornness to stick with his Sarri-ball and 4-3-3 formation proved futile and raised more questions about his future as Manchester United highlighted the flaws in Sarri’s style of play.

Chelsea fans turned on Sarri during the game and were disappointed with some of his decisions especially his decision to bring in Davide Zappacosta for Cesar Azpilicueta with Chelsea 2-0 down.

Arsenal legend Martin Keown was shocked at Sarri’s decision to use Zappacosta as his last substitute instead of the promising young forward Callum Hudson-Odoi despite Chelsea trailing by two goals.

Responding to Sarri’s decision to bring in Zappacosta instead of Hudson-Odoi, Keown said: “He’s [Hudson-Odoi] probably wondering isn’t he. I mean they’re two goals down and he’s put a defender on. Is it a political move from the manager because it’s a stupid one if it is.”

It seems Hudson-Odoi was also disappointed with Sarri’s decision not to use him against Manchester United as he was spotted eyeing Sarri with the look of resentment written all over his face after being kept on the bench.

What do you think of Sarri’s decision to use Zappacosta as his last substitution against Manchester United despite Chelsea trailing by two goals?
