Chelsea signed Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in January for a fee of £58million and loaned him back to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old gave Chelsea fans a glimpse of what to expect when he joins his Chelsea teammates at the end of the season after scoring a brilliant goal against Werder Bremen in the German Cup on Tuesday night.
Pulisic went on a fantastic run, dancing past several Werder Bremen players before passing the ball to Dortmund teammate Paco Alcacer. The 20-year-old then received the ball back from Alcacer and finished under the onrushing goalkeeper to put Dortmund in front for the first time in the game.
Pulisic could be Eden Hazard’s replacement should the Belgian leave Chelsea for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Pulisic has been sparingly by Borussia Dortmund following the emergence of Jadon Sancho but he showed why Chelsea spent big to sign him in January.
It was the midfielder’s first goal since October and Chelsea fans were delighted to see the USA international impress despite Dortmund losing 4-2 on penalties to Werder Bremen after extra time finished 3-3.
