Chelsea responded to the 4-0 loss at Bournemouth on Wednesday with an impressive 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Gonzalo Higuain and Eden Hazard scored a brace in the 5-0 rout of Huddersfield with David Luiz also on the scoresheet after heading home a corner from Willian.
Higuain’s finishing against Huddersfield was impressive while Hazard tormented the Huddersfield players all afternoon.
While fans might have been impressed with the finishing from Hazard and Higuain especially the Argentine’s stunning finish from outside the box into the corner of the net, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri revealed after the game that it was more the link-up between Higuain and Hazard that pleased him the most throughout the encounter.
“I know very well that, when he arrived, he wasn’t at the top of his physical condition,” Sarri said. “Now he is improving. I’m really very happy because, apart from the goals, my feeling is he’s really suitable to play very close to Eden.
“I think that, on the pitch, they are really very suitable to play one close to the other. For us, this is very useful for Higuain because he will be able to score a lot of goals, but also for Eden.”
Chelsea’s next Premier League game is a visit to the Etihad Stadium to play Manchester City and Sarri would be expecting more of the same from Hazard and Higuain against City.
